The Ultimate Texan Top Sights

If you are thinking of seeing more of the USA, and you haven’t seen the state of Texas, that is absolutely one of the first that you should check out.

We all know about its huge size, and a great thing about that for visitors is that there is always more to explore. That means more to do, more to see, and more that you can while away your time on when you go travelling there.

But you might feel a little at a loss to decide exactly what to do, and the truth is that you’re not alone. A lot of people find that the state is so large they don’t know where to begin, and that is why we’ve put this short list together.

Consider the following possibilities if you are thinking of visiting Texas any time soon and you want to know how to spend your time there:

The Alamo

If you are looking for a slice of Texan life which is at once well known and yet misunderstood, then the Alamo is a great place to start.

This fort became famous during the War of Independence, and has forever since been something of a place of pilgrimage for many Americans. It has been destroyed and restored more than once, but it still very much remains the glory of its former years.

Visiting the Alamo will also enable you to see the rest of the beautiful city of San Antonio, where it stands. Finding an extended stay hotel in San Antonio, Texas is not too hard either, so if you want to remain here for a while, that is perfectly simple to do as well. It’s a great site that anyone should visit at least once in their life.

NASA Space Center

Ever since the space race began, there has been an increased interest in Texas from tourists for its strong links to the Space Program in the USA.

One of the most visited sites, and arguably the most interesting of them all, is the world-famous Space Center in Houston. This is the ground from which all of the major exploration missions of the past fifty or so years have taken off, so as well as being a great one for science nerds, it’s also a hugely fascinating historical site.

A visit to Space Center night will remind you of our tiny stature in this vast universe – and there are not many holidays that will be able to do that for you.

Big Bend

This huge and beautiful national park is one of the largest in the country, indeed the world, and it is easy to get lost in its splendor if you go for even a short walk.

It is therefore advisable to take great care when doing so – but as long as you do that, you would find that it is an incredibly exciting place to visit, full of wildlife and a great place for walking or camping.

It’s a part of Texas a lot of tourists don’t see, but it’s definitely worth it if you are a true lover of all things nature.
