Style

The building that houses this boutique hotel was built in 1902 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

But even with its Old World exterior, the interiors and accommodations here are contemporary in style.

Rooms

It is important for us that hotels have comfortable beds, and Hotel Napoleon did not disappoint.

The bed was very soft and large enough for two people to sleep comfortably. Pillows can be hit or miss for even some of the most luxurious hotels; thankfully, theirs were both soft but supportive at the same time.

Hotel Napoleon Memphis Bathroom

The bathroom was incredibly spacious and had ample counter space. We also liked that the sink area can be separated from the toilet and shower area with a sliding door. One nitpick though: we did wish there were a bit more hooks or storage in the bathroom area. It was hard for us to find a place to hang both of our towels.

Each guest room features a cozy clean minimalist look and boasts amenities like a coffee maker, a work desk, a flat-screen TV, an ironing desk, a mini-fridge, and complimentary Wi-Fi access.

Mississippi River

Location

But what really sets this hotel apart from others? It’s the location—sitting blocks from the Mississippi River in downtown Memphis.

To reach other parts of Memphis from here, you can hop on any one of several trolley lines running through town. But given its central location, there’s plenty to see even within walking distance.

Plus, it’s just a few steps away from several restaurants, including local favorite Charlie Vergos’ Rendezvous and the numerous options on Beale Street.

Dining and Amenities

The variety of dining options near Hotel Napoleon Memphis’ made it easy for us to get meals whenever we needed them.

The hotel also has its own in-house restaurant, Luna, as well that serves breakfast, dinner, and cocktails. We did notice that their breakfast selection is a bit limited. Yet it’s still great to have this option directly onsite for guests’ convenience.

Other amenities include a business center and a fitness center. We did not have the opportunity to try these out ourselves, but it’s always nice to know that they are available in case we needed them.

Hotel Napoleon Memphis Lobby Service

The hotel is clean and comfortable, but it’s the staff that really makes it stand out.

The staff was consistently friendly, professional, and attentive. We were greeted warmly by the front desk staff each time we approached them.

It’s not just that they were hospitable; they also seemed genuinely invested in making sure we had the best possible experience while we were staying with them. Krishna, in particular, was very helpful during our stay and gave us service with a smile.
